You do what these guys did.
What do we call these weddings these days? People have thrown out micro wedding, zoom wedding, covid wedding, backyard wedding⦠and perhaps my favorite - minimony (just sort of rolls off the tongue).
Itβs not often in Manhattan we get to shoot a wedding like this, but these smaller, intimate weddings are sometimes just what the doctor ordered. I know H & R had bigger plans to celebrate with more family and friends, but what a perfect day this turned out to be - that in spite of all the horrible things happening in the world, and a global pandemic, they still found a way to celebrate love and a beautiful relationship. What an amazing metaphor for marriageβ¦ but Iβm just grateful to be their New York elopement photographer.
Anyway, how to have a killer Zoom Wedding during Covid:
Get somebody whoβs got Zoom and the video aspect figured out right. (I wasnβt close enough to tell, but looked to me like Jack had it figured out and running smoothly.
Keep it small. Everybodyβs on Zoom anyway, so the smaller it is, the more intimate, fun, and memorable the day will be.
Photography. Invest in it. Sure, this is a small ceremony, and maybe youβll do something post-pandemic, but remember that youβre actually getting married this day, and the photos will mean a lot down the road. Itβs important for New York elopement photographers to capture all those crucial moments.
Keep it simple. No need for extravagance when you have each other, family, and a few close friends.
Thereβs probably more to add to the above, but in following with #4, weβll keep it simple. Check out some of the shots from the day below - including a limo, a pool swing, a tennis court, and socks with dogs on them.
