K + J // Domino Park, Brooklyn Proposal
Brooklyn, NYC
Domino Park
Proposal, Balloons, Champagne
July, 2021 | Brooklyn, NY
J was organized. He sent us a map, a detailed timeline, an order of events, and he followed through.
I was stationed at the corner of Domino Park when I got the 10 minute text from J. At the last minute I panicked and switched to my 70-200mm lens instead of the 24mm. This came in handy, as they came around the corner and I began to follow them very creepily. J went a little farther down the walk than I expected, and as I walked quickly to catch up I was viciously attacked by a tiny terrier. I untangled myself from the leash as he got down on a knee to propose, and luckily was still able to get the look of shock on K’s face.
What a beautiful proposal this was. Their friends were waiting nearby and cheered immediately from up above, then came running with balloons and champagne to celebrate. We took 10 minutes to get some portraits in, and they continued on their celebration. Wishing the couple the best as they make their wedding plans!
Central Park Family Session

Gapstow Bridge | Central Park
A remembered proposal, family photos, autumn
OCTOBER 31, 2020 | GAPSTOW BRIDGE, CENTRAL PARK, NYC
J & L contacted me looking for a family portrait photographer, but really ended up getting a proposal photographer when they asked to recreate the moment they got engaged on the Gapstow Bridge. What an amazing thing to be able to go back to the day he put a ring on it, but 15 years later with 5 kiddos in tow. Plus I just love this area of Central Park. The juxtaposition of skyscrapers with a beautiful bridge and the fall colors can’t be beat.
And these guys were troopers. A family of five kids they were willing to walk around, wait around and follow all my silly directions. Though, I need to work on the Dad jokes as many of them fell flat. We’ll need to get J to work on his Dad jokes as well, since the entire family could agree that he didn’t have any!
